Gong Bath w/ Michele

Sunday, September 24th | 7-8 pm | $20 or $40 /two people

The use of vibration and sound is a critical tool for healing the human nervous system. We have all been in a state of uncertainty, anxiety, and dis-ease. These states of being tax the nervous system – both over-driving the sympathetic (flight or flight) nervous system and inhibiting the parasympathetic (rest and digest) nervous system. The yogis wisely noted that sound is the language of the parasympathetic nervous system and soothes a vata (or constant movement) imbalance. Here is an opportunity to allow your nervous system to repair and rejuvenate in a bath of sound vibrations. Class will begin with some insights about current astrology, stretching or calming yoga, and then 30-40 minutes of a gong bath.

*If you are prone to headaches, please bring a head covering (hat, scarf, bandana, etc).

*Minimum age for participation is 11-years-old.

Past Life Meditation for Beginners w/ Missy

Sunday, October 1st | 7-8:15 pm | $22

We will move backwards through time in a guided meditation to explore a previous lifetime that is affecting us in our current life today. Through exploring our previous lives, we can move towards healing, reclaiming, and releasing in our current life. We can gather new understandings of patterns and behaviours, reclaim gifts and strengths, and even end commitments made in past lives that are no longer serving us.

We will begin with a brief discussion and explanation of past life work, move into the meditation, and end with a bit of processing and discussion. This meditation is best suited for people newer to this work.

No experience is necessary, just come with an open mind, a notebook and a writing utensil to journal after the meditation. Dress comfortably!

Missy Johanna Rhysing is an American woman practicing Nordic folk traditions in Denver, CO and Mpls, MN. Her people hail from Scandinavia, Bohemia/Czech Republic, France and England. She places great importance on working with our ancestral root cultures as a means of reclaiming and reweaving folk magic and medicine to improve our lives and our relationships with the lands we live on today.

Missy’s trainings include Trolldom, Nordic spirituality and animism, Swedish massage, past life regression, meditation, shiatsu, tattooing, folk herbal and nutritional support, and more. Missy facilitates community sauna ceremonies and is passionate about sauna tradition and culture. She has been offered the name Völva, or cunning woman, and holds that close to her heart with great honor. She carries immense gratitude for her mentors, spirit council, and peers for the doors that have been opened to her and the blessings she has received.

Breathwork and Astrology w/ Amy and Lacey

Saturday, October 29th | 6-8 pm | $250

Join Amy Kuretsky, from Constellation Acupuncture & Healing Arts, and  Lacey Prpić Hedtke, from The Future, for a special  astrology and group breathwork event at Yess Yoga. Breathwork is a powerful experiential tool and process that allows deep self-exploration and transformation. Breathwork uses only the power of our own breath with the support of music and a group dynamic to access a non-ordinary state of consciousness.  with an intentional breathing practice to go within into the deepest parts of ourselves and witness whatever we find there with love and compassion.

There’s significant power in coming together in a sacred container to breathe and open our hearts together as a group. This group dynamic allows you to care for yourself while you care for your community through group healing. Because this process can bring up intense emotions and strong physical experiences, please understand that issues arising from participation in Breathwork may require additional therapeutic or supportive interventions. If you are in the first trimester of pregnancy, have a recent TBI or history with seizures, retinal detachment, or any other significant health issue you’d like Amy to be aware of, please make this information known to her prior to your participation. As always, please feel empowered to discuss breathwork with your physician if you are concerned about participating for any reason.

This event will be split into three parts: time to discuss the current astrology, time to lay down and breathe together, and time after the breathing to share witness. No previous breathwork experience necessary. Wear comfy clothes, bring a yoga mat, an eye covering (mats and other props are also available onsite to borrow if needed!)

Slow Flow, Mantra & Sonic Blessings w/ Mary Bue

Saturday, November 4th | 7-9 pm | $35 or $50/two people

Spend your evening in sweet community,  surrounded in sound. Connect body & breath in a slow flow sequence,  exploring what it feels like to add sacred syllables,  humming,  and sounding breaths in a low-intensity asana practice.  With asana, we gently prepare and warm the body to become a vessel & recipient of sound.  From here we will explore a few mantras ~ tools & techniques to focus and protect the mind ~ to the best of our abilities,  with reverence to the ancient teachings from whence they came.  To follow, enjoy guided relaxation and sonic blessings – a serenade of original songs,  bhakti devotional mantras,  hymns,  and more – while in a restorative or resting pose.  Movement,  mantra,  and music to connect with your heart.

Mary Bue is a songwriter, Nada yogi, traveler, runner, vegan, retreat guide, music + yoga teacher based out of Minneapolis, often roaming this beautiful world. Named Best Songwriter of 2020 by City Pages, her music touches upon archetypal themes of the human condition: love, loss, triumph, dreams,  and the natural world. Her latest album The World is Your Lover was released in 2020 and garnered rave reviews from around the globe. Mary has taught the Mantra and Yoga of Sound module for Yess Yoga Studio’s 300 hour advanced teacher training since 2020 and is an e-RYT 500 Yoga Alliance certified continuing education provider.  marybue.com
