Community care has been the focus of Yess Yoga since we started over 13 years ago. It is the foundation of our third space and guides our classes, workshops, and trainings. This lifestyle is collaborative and encourages a human centered approach. It can deeply enhance your quality of life. In the past few years, it has become obvious how isolation shreds at our peace and humanity. Isolation breeds competition and comparison. Community care uplifts what we have in common and cherishes our personalized gifts. Each of us can be involved in community care. May this be a way forward. We would love to foster a brighter world alongside you. Below is a quote in Emergent Strategies by Adrienne Maree Brown that highlights how important each of us are for a unified world. “Do you already know that your existence – who and how you are – is in and of itself a contribution to the people and place around you? Not after or because you do some particular thing, but simply the miracle of your life. And that the people around you, and the place(s), have contributions as well? Do you understand that your quality of life and your survival are tied to how authentic and generous the connections are between you and the people and place you live with and in?Are you actively practicing generosity and vulnerability in order to make the connections between you and others clear, open, available, durable? Generosity here means giving of what you have without strings or expectation attached. Vulnerability means showing your needs.”—One of my favorite parts of teaching yoga is the community care aspect. I adore creating something unique for those who are in class (whether in person or virtual) based on the group’s energy. Beyond weekly classes, Yess’ teacher training is anchored in the community and I would be honored to share it with you. Learn more below.
