I adore the spring and its fluctuating weather, eye rolls welcome. I find it so charming how one moment bulbs are popping up and the next, I’m texting, “Are we really going out in this blizzard?” Spring reminds me that emerging is slow, steady, and yet always happening. This season, I invite us to consciously choose adaptation and growth. Let’s EMERGE during this moon cycle.
To me, emerge means to confidently know that growth is coming while maintaining patience and clarity. When you come to Yess, we want you to feel deeply connected to the present moment (patience), while building a foundation for change (collective adaptation). May our ability to emerge give us the strength to pursue our hearts’ desire with integrity.

It is no surprise to those who have been reading these emails that I adore adrienne maree brown, especially Emergent Strategy. The teachings in this book, inspire me daily. Below is a writing from a.m.b titled “an emergent strategy response to mass shootings” written on June 7, 2022.
Building the path from this heartbreaking present to a future where we center our collective existence in love and care is where we come in.
We are the ones shining light on the lies and inconsistencies in our current reality, and we are the ones dreaming up, remembering and practicing mutual ways of being in community with each other.
We are learning how to grieve without disappearing, and we are refusing to normalize this terror.
We are scholars of belonging and accountability, releasing ourselves from the reductive protocols of punitive culture.
We are protesting injustice wherever we find it, while forging the pathways to a justice we cocreate.
We are releasing either/or thinking, and we are outgrowing every construct meant to divide and disempower us.
We understand that this is an extinction point, and we are not just interested in survival – we want a just world for future generations and for the earth. Each day, we are the ones creating more possibilities.
